Before deleting your account
Your access ends immediately and personal data is scheduled for erasure after 30 days. Review active marketplace transactions, event tickets, refunds, disputes, balances, and pending payouts before continuing. Deletion does not cancel a payment, release an amount owed, or resolve an open dispute.
If you own an organization, transfer ownership before deleting your account. Removing the only owner could interrupt member management, events, posts, verification, chats, and Hooj Pay access.
What deletion removes
Hooj immediately deactivates your login and removes your profile and active content from the product. After the deletion window, personal profile data and user content are erased or de-identified and associated media is queued for provider cleanup.
Copies another person created independently, content required to preserve a conversation or transaction record, and information already lawfully disclosed to another party may not disappear from every context.
What Hooj may retain
Hooj may retain limited information when reasonably necessary or legally required for payment accounting, taxes, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, security, chargebacks, safety reports, child-safety reporting, legal process, enforcement, and record preservation.
Payment, dispute, fraud-prevention, safety, and legal records may be retained without your public profile when Hooj is required to preserve them. An unresolved financial matter can delay final erasure of the affected records.
Timing and media cleanup
Login access ends when deletion succeeds. Related photos, videos, and provider-hosted files may be removed asynchronously after the database record is deleted and any configured retention period expires. Backups may persist for a limited period before rotating out.
A lawful hold, safety investigation, unresolved payment matter, or provider requirement may delay deletion of specific records. More detail appears in the Privacy Policy.
Submit a verified deletion request
Enter the email and password for the Hooj account. This verification helps prevent another person from deleting your account without permission.
Other deletion and privacy requests
If you cannot sign in, use an external identity provider, need to delete only particular content, or are making an authorized request for another person, contact support@hooj.app. Hooj may request additional verification before acting.
