01

Scope of these event terms

These Event and Ticket Terms apply when you create, manage, discover, RSVP to, request access to, purchase admission for, attend, or check in to an event through Hooj. They supplement the Terms of Service, Payments, Refunds, and Disputes Policy, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and terms displayed for a specific event or ticket tier.

If a clearly disclosed event-specific term conflicts with these general event terms, the event-specific term controls for that event unless it violates applicable law or Hooj policy.

02

Organizer identity and authority

Hooj events are created for organizations. A person who creates, edits, tickets, checks in, or otherwise manages an event represents that they have authority from the organization to take that action.

Organization owners, admins, and members with event responsibility may receive event-management capability. Payment setup and paid ticket creation require separate payment authority. A Hooj role controls access inside the Service but does not independently grant legal authority outside Hooj.

Organizers may not impersonate another organization, falsely claim sponsorship, use a venue or third party's intellectual property without permission, or imply that Hooj, a school, performer, venue, or organization endorses the event when it does not.

03

Creating and describing an event

Organizers must provide accurate, current, and non-misleading information, including:

  • Event title, description, type, date, start time, and any known end time.
  • Location, venue, access instructions, and age or eligibility restrictions when applicable.
  • Whether the event is open, requires an RSVP, or requires a ticket.
  • Capacity, guest rules, approval requirements, sales windows, and ticket limits.
  • Prices, included benefits, material restrictions, refund expectations, and contact information.
  • Accessibility information and safety notices that an attendee would reasonably need.

Organizers must update details promptly when they change. Cover images, stories, posts, and promotional statements must accurately represent the event and may not use another person's image, music, trademark, or other protected material without permission.

04

Visibility, eligibility, and discovery

An event may be public, campus-only, followers-only, members-only, link-only, or private depending on the available settings. Visibility controls who can discover or open an event; they do not guarantee admission.

Hooj may rank or recommend eligible events based on school, time, location, follows, popularity, views, and other discovery signals. Hooj does not guarantee placement, reach, attendance, ticket sales, or continued recommendation.

Organizers are responsible for using appropriate visibility and eligibility settings. Attendees may not evade restrictions, share private access improperly, or misrepresent membership, age, school affiliation, approval, or ticket ownership.

05

Open events, RSVPs, guests, and approval

An open event may not require an RSVP or ticket, but venue rules and capacity can still apply. An RSVP records interest, attendance intent, or an access request; it is not a property right, payment, or guaranteed reservation unless the event expressly says otherwise.

If RSVP approval is required, the request remains pending until an authorized event manager approves or declines it. Pending approval does not guarantee capacity. Organizers should apply disclosed eligibility criteria consistently and may not discriminate unlawfully.

Guests are allowed only when the event enables them and only up to the displayed per-user limit. The person adding guests is responsible for communicating event rules to them. Capacity calculations may include approved guests.

Users should cancel an RSVP they no longer intend to use. Hooj may continue to retain limited RSVP history for event operation, safety, analytics, and legal purposes.

06

Ticket tiers, quantities, and sales windows

Organizers may create free or paid ticket tiers with a name, description, price, quantity, per-user limit, approval requirement, and sales window. A tier name such as General Admission, Early Access, or VIP is descriptive only; the organizer must clearly identify what the tier actually includes.

Ticket availability can change until issuance. A request or checkout initiation does not override a sales start, sales end, sold-out state, disabled tier, capacity limit, or per-user limit. Hooj checks these conditions again when a ticket is issued.

An unlimited quantity setting means Hooj does not enforce a numeric tier inventory. It does not override venue capacity, safety restrictions, permits, or applicable law.

Approval for a ticket request permits checkout but does not itself charge the attendee, reserve funds indefinitely, or issue a ticket. Organizers should approve or decline requests in a timely and fair manner.

07

Free claims and paid ticket purchases

A free ticket is issued after eligibility, sales-window, quantity, and per-user checks. A paid ticket is issued only after Stripe confirms payment and Hooj completes the order. The amount shown at checkout may include the ticket subtotal, applicable tax, and separately disclosed buyer fees.

For paid tickets, Hooj processes the payment and creates an organizer transfer through Stripe. The organizer receives the ticket subtotal less the disclosed Hooj fee and applicable adjustments. Tax, when collected, is not organizer proceeds.

If payment succeeds but the app closes or finalization is interrupted, Hooj may reconcile the Stripe payment with its records, safely retry issuance, or refund the payment. A temporary error does not authorize an attendee or organizer to create duplicate orders or demand duplicate access.

08

Tickets, admission, and check-in

An active ticket is evidence of the holder's current right to the admission described by its event and tier, subject to these terms, event rules, safety requirements, capacity, and applicable law. A ticket does not guarantee a particular seat, benefit, performer, schedule, or experience unless expressly stated.

When check-in is enabled, an authorized event manager may scan or enter the ticket code. Successful check-in marks the ticket used and records the time and manager. Used, cancelled, refunded, duplicated, fraudulent, or otherwise inactive tickets can be rejected.

Attendees must protect ticket codes and may not duplicate, publish, forge, alter, sell, or share them in a way Hooj does not authorize. Hooj and the organizer may request reasonable identity or eligibility confirmation where disclosed and lawful.

An organizer may refuse or end admission for safety, capacity, fraud, unlawful conduct, or material violation of disclosed event rules. This does not eliminate any refund or consumer right required by law.

09

Event changes, postponement, and cancellation

Organizers must update Hooj promptly when an event's date, time, location, access, material program, eligibility, or status changes. Hooj may notify people who RSVP, hold tickets, or otherwise qualify for event updates, but delivery is not guaranteed.

A minor schedule or program adjustment does not automatically create a refund right. A material change may. Relevant factors include the difference from what was purchased, attendee notice, whether access was used, replacement options, applicable law, and the event-specific terms shown at purchase.

If an event is cancelled, the organizer must stop promoting or selling access and cooperate with Hooj on attendee communication, ticket status, refunds, transfer reversals, and required records. An event with paid ticket history cannot be permanently erased merely to remove financial or attendee history; it must be cancelled and retained as required.

10

Ticket refunds

Ticket purchases are not automatically refundable because an attendee changes plans, arrives late, misses the event, loses access through their own conduct, or no longer satisfies a clearly disclosed eligibility requirement.

If an event is cancelled, materially changed, or does not provide the purchased admission, the attendee may request a refund through the organizer or Hooj. Refund eligibility and amount depend on applicable law, the event circumstances, whether the ticket was used, the original transaction terms, and the ability to return or recover funds.

A completed refund generally returns funds to the original payment method and revokes unused ticket access. Bank and card-network timing determines when the credit appears. Refunds, organizer transfer reversals, platform fees, tax adjustments, and ticket status are separate accounting actions and may not update simultaneously.

Review the Payments, Refunds, and Disputes Policy for payment failures, refund timing, chargebacks, negative balances, and payout adjustments.

11

Attendee conduct and event safety

Attendees and guests must follow the Community Guidelines, venue rules, organizer instructions, and applicable law. Harassment, violence, threats, discrimination, dangerous conduct, fraud, unlawful substance activity, property damage, and interference with event staff or other attendees are prohibited.

Events involve real-world risks that Hooj does not control. Attendees are responsible for evaluating the event, venue, transportation, weather, physical activity, age restrictions, and their own circumstances. Contact emergency services, not Hooj, when there is immediate danger.

Hooj does not supervise events and does not guarantee organizer identity, venue condition, security, accessibility, legality, attendance, or participant conduct merely because the event appears in Hooj or an organization is verified.

12

Organizer safety and legal responsibilities

Organizers are responsible for the event's operation and must obtain and maintain any permission, insurance, venue agreement, permit, license, staffing, security, emergency plan, accessibility measure, parental consent, or professional supervision required for the event.

Organizers must comply with laws concerning capacity, fire and building safety, accessibility, alcohol, food, fundraising, contests, music and performance rights, privacy, employment, minors, consumer protection, ticketing, taxation, and any school or venue requirements.

Paid event admission may be taxed based on the event's performance location rather than the buyer's billing location. Organizers must provide accurate venue information and cooperate with Hooj on classifications, tax records, refunds, and reporting.

Hooj's tools, templates, verification, check-in, and payment processing do not replace professional, legal, tax, safety, accessibility, or insurance advice.

13

Event content, attendee information, and stories

Event managers may receive information needed to manage requests, tickets, attendance, guests, and check-in. They may use that information only for legitimate event operation, safety, support, and legal obligations, and may not export, sell, or misuse it.

Attendee names, profile information, RSVP state, or participation may be visible through event features according to Hooj's current design and privacy settings. Do not RSVP or attend under another person's account.

Event stories and posts may show the event experience but do not become the organizer's property merely because they use the event destination. Creators retain their content rights, subject to Hooj's Terms and the selected audience. Organizers may report content but may not republish identifiable attendee content outside Hooj without permission or another valid legal basis.

14

Ticket transfer and resale

Hooj does not currently provide a ticket-transfer or event-ticket-resale workflow. A ticket remains associated with the account to which Hooj issued it unless Hooj expressly enables another process.

Do not sell, transfer, duplicate, or advertise a Hooj ticket through an unsupported method. A payment made outside Hooj does not update ticket ownership and is not protected or refundable by Hooj.

Any future transfer or resale feature will be subject to additional disclosures, venue and organizer restrictions, fraud controls, and applicable ticket-sale and resale laws. Nothing here limits a transfer or resale right that cannot legally be waived.

15

Event enforcement and disputes

Hooj may limit discovery, pause ticket sales, hide or cancel an event, disable check-in, revoke tickets, preserve records, restrict organization capabilities, suspend accounts, or require corrective action when we reasonably believe an event violates law, Hooj policy, payment requirements, safety obligations, or third-party rights.

Disputes between attendees and organizers should first be addressed through event contact information or Hooj support. Hooj may review the event description, updates, messages, RSVP and approval history, payment, ticket, and check-in records. Hooj does not guarantee a particular resolution and does not limit non-waivable consumer or cardholder rights.

Card disputes are governed by the Payments, Refunds, and Disputes Policy and Stripe's process. Filing a card dispute does not automatically erase attendance, check-in, communication, or accounting records.

16

Updates and contact

Hooj may update these terms prospectively as event, ticketing, transfer, tax, or check-in features change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material or legally required. The terms displayed at the time of a completed ticket purchase continue to govern that purchase where required.
